Jumpstart is an annual program that Heartland Church has developed to help with the growing need of back-to-school clothing for children in our community. Our program goal is to reach as many families in need as possible while showing them the love of Christ through our actions.

Even more than a program, Jumpstart serves as a partnership between our church and the county and city schools within our Paducah, Kentucky & Metropolis, Illinois regions. Through partnering with the schools we have been given names of children who are in desperate need of clothing. We then reach out to each of these children’s families to invite them to our campus for an all-day event. We offer free haircuts to over 175 students, free lunch for the entire family, as well as a day filled with fun, door prizes, and educational activities. At the end of the day we take the families to Wal-Mart, where we spend an allotted amount on each student so they are well equipped for their first day of classes.

Our hope is that through missions, such as Jumpstart, that we can truly resemble the cross of Jesus by voluntarily engaging a broken world with acts of love. If you’d like more information or to find out how you or your business can contact our missions department at Heartland.
